Brilliant Builders

This resource contains six activities that link to materials and their properties and cover aspects of working scientifically. They include:

  • identifying different materials in the classroom and sorting them according to their properties

  • exploring the properties of different materials and how they make them useful for different purposes

  • using different materials to build houses for the three little pigs and predict what will happen to the houses

  • using their knowledge of properties of materials build houses for the little pigs out of alternative materials

These activities have been provided by Hamilton Trust as part of their mixed age group science lessons.
