Data Handling - Lorry value
This task is a real-world example of how spreadsheets can be utilised effectively to simplify data handling and calculation tasks.
Pupils are provided with information about the number of items being transported in a lorry and their individual value. Pupils have to create a spreadsheet to calculate the total value of each item type in the lorry and the overall value of all the items in the lorry. Pupils are expected to create appropriate formula to perform the necessary calculations with the data and apply conditional formatting to calculated values that meet certain criteria. Finally, they are required to present some of the data in a pie chart and bar chart.
