3. The Big Challenge - Saving Today’s Dinosaurs

This session recaps the different types of human impact on birds and introduces the idea of migration and birds needing a network of places to rest and visit on their long journey.

Pupils will combine everything they've learned in the previous 'Saving Today's Dinosaurs' sessions and use this knowledge to inform their final hands-on creative challenge - their 'build the change' idea.

The Big Challenge is to get their local area ready to welcome migratory birds, thinking about where the birds will nest, providing clean water and protection from noise and light pollution. Pupils will also need to ensure humans can still live there so the space should be designed to that birds and humans can co-exist.
