Wildfire

This resource contains a synopsis of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Sixth assessment on wildfires written in language suitable for A level students, so can be used as an exercise in reading comprehension and note taking. It looks at natural and anthropogenic causes of wildfires, their benefits and their hazards. It goes on to explain the link between climate change and wildfires using specific examples. It then uses case studies to look at how wildfires can be prevented.

An information organisation sheet guides students toward extracting relevant data from the synopsis to help them with taking notes from a piece of text. There is also a mind map to demonstate another way to organise information.
