BEST diagnostic questions adapted for age 7 to 11 - is it a bird?

This diagnostic question is part of a series adapted for primary aged pupils from the Best Evidence Science Teaching project for ages 11 to 14.

It helps students to understand how to use a key to classify organisms into broad groups. It targets any misunderstandings pupils may have surrounding classification such as grouping by certain features, such as wings, or habitats instead of observable features and shows how using a key is a more accurate way to classify organisms.
