This resource is designed to support learning about the Polar Regions alongside curriculum content. It is laid out in 3 sections. An introduction which sets the scene for looking at survival of plants and animals in the Polar regions, followed by activities for teachers to select from in two themed sections: food webs and interdependence – composed of a session on food webs and energy, followed by a session on bioaccumulation and section 2 light and life.
The unit can be used for first teaching of ideas in the first instance or for reviewing, applying and consolidating ideas in a novel context.
