Assessment Support Materials

This collection of materials from the National Strategies brings together those elements which are primarily concerned with supporting teachers in the development of assessment techniques and understanding of the evidence students should provide, whether it is an objective or a level.

APP assessment packages: Teachers' packs and students' work. As part of the Assessing Pupils' Progress (APP) strategy, these packages were designed to provide assessment activities to use as classroom lessons.

Focused Assessment materials: These assessment materials from the National Strategies are based on the APP assessment criteria and organised in National Curriculum levels.

Mathematics exemplification examples illustrate what students should be able to do within a particular strand of objectives by the end of each year.

Standards files, this set of examples of students’ work at different levels and in different years will provide useful guidance on making APP assessments against national standards.
