Ageing Society: level 3
This resource forms part of the ageing society resources from the Grand Challenges resource collection. The introductory video can be found here.
The ageing society – level 3 resource package consists of activities designed to run for around two to three hours which are broken up into separate practical programming activities. Students will develop their programming skills by learning how to use a graphical user interface (GUI) in Python.
This resource package is aimed towards students transitioning from GCSE to A Level Computer Science.
Using the text programming language Python, students will focus their efforts on developing technology that can be used by users with certain health conditions. Students will use their programming skills to create a ‘brain teaser’ program that can be used to help stimulate the brain. Students will use their prior programming learning in Python to support their new understanding of how to program a graphical user interface to enhance the user experience, this will be taught with Object Orientated Programming.
