Analysing parallel circuits
These diagnostic questions and response activities (contained in the zip file) support students in being able to:
- Apply correctly the rules for potential difference and current in a parallel circuit.
- Explain the effects of adding a component to a circuit in parallel.
- Calculate current through branches of a parallel circuit using I=V/R.
- Systematically analyse parallel circuits using the equation I=V/R and the rules for current and p.d.
- Explain the effect of changes in complex parallel circuits.
The resources include details of common misconceptions and a summary of the research upon which the resources are based.
