Periodic Patterns
These diagnostic questions and response activities (contained in the zip file) support students in being able to:
- Distinguish a chemical from a physical property.
- Use observations to identify substances with similar chemical properties.
- Sequence elements in the Periodic Table according to their atomic number.
- Identify elements that have similar chemical properties using their location in the same vertical group of the Periodic Table.
- Recognise that similarity in chemical properties is a periodic feature.
The resources include details of common misconceptions and a summary of the research upon which the resources are based.
