Simultaneous Equations Inquiry
This resource from Inquiry Maths is designed to stimulate exploration of the nature of simultaneous equations.
Simultaneous equations inquiry outlines the prompt leading to discussion about the nature of the coefficients used. Further simultaneous equations of the same type are formed and the solution to the equations explored. Students are then encourages to formulate a proof of the result. A number of supplementary inquiries are suggested.
Mathematical notes explains the proof required for the initial inquiry.
