These National Strategies materials were produced as taught CPD sessions for science teachers, and later as self study units, on Assessment for Learning in science.
Context and development
Produced as part of the Key Stage Three National Strategy for teachers of students aged 11-14, and then the National Strategies, these materials are for helping teachers improve their understanding and practice in Assessment for Learning. Written by the Key Stage Three National Strategy team, the sessions and units make reference to research evidence, and other Government and National Strategies publications such as 'Inside the Black Box' (Black et al), the QCA Scheme of Work and Assessing Pupils’ Progress.
