Science with Technology Focused Units
The Science with Technology focused units were each planned to concentrate on a particular aspect of a topic. The units were created as part of a joint initiative of the Association for Science Education and the Design and Technology Association.
The series of focused units was intended to develop students' understanding of key scientific concepts and help to re-work them into 'knowledge for practical action'. Thus these units were designed to help students overcome the problems they may have in transferring their understanding of a concept from one subject to another, in this case, from science to technology.
