The course is designed for non-specialist year 3 and 4 teachers to improve their confidence, subject knowledge and understanding of the 5 different Working Scientifically elements in the National Curriculum. This course will have a biology focus, teachers will learn how to ensure they are covering all the Working Scientifically aspects to deliver ‘Animals including humans’, ‘Living things and their habitats’ and ‘Plants’ effectively.


You will be able to:<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

·        use all five lines of enquiry and understand the importance of each in their classroom.

·        To share practical working scientifically ideas across the biology strand that will engage, excite and motivate children whilst acquiring secure subject knowledge.

·        To demonstrate ways of assessing Working Scientifically in the classroom and how this can be evidenced
