Problem Solving - Is It a Bargain?
As part of the series Primary Lesson Starters, this Teachers TV film clip shows fictional Chief Inspector Hector Nector investigating a local conman. Dodgy Dave is offering five pairs of socks for £4 instead of one pair at 75p, a 20 per cent discount on t-shirts, and a free pair of sunglasses with every three pairs bought. The fictitious scenarios are designed to encourage class discussion and prompt students to decide whether the offers are good value or not.
