Silver Award: Triathlon

These materials look at three possible projects that relate to the bicycle used by an athlete in a triathlon: * Communications project - students gather information and give advice about which bike is suitable for a range of users. * Practical project - students undertake practical experiments to investigate the effect of bicycle gears on top speed and acceleration and whether the gears used by an athlete affect his or her ability to run afterwards. * Research project - students find information to understand how a bike’s design affects performance on different terrains and evaluate bikes for their value for money.
