Nuclear Power Design Engineer: David Bennett
This STEMNET resource describes the background and career of STEM Ambassador David Bennett, a design engineer at a nuclear power station.
David's role is to ensure that any modifications made to the nuclear power plant improve safety and efficiency. He started work after gaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering and likes the daily challenges. “The role of an engineer is to take the theories and information from the scientist and use them to solve problems. And it’s the problem solving and hands-on elements of my job that I really enjoy.”
