Explore the Future
This activity pack, aimed at children aged 5-11, contains a range of different activities based on the theme “Explore the future”. The activities cover a mixture of topics including; including: Earth and Space, food, the water cycle, forces, magnets, energy and the environment.
Designed either for use in class or within a science week or club, they promote investigative work and communication skills and include: making a mini-planetarium, modelling how to estimate the size of a population, investigating how satellite navigation works, making a solar panel and modelling the water cycle in a bowl. Teachers' notes are provided within the pack and include concise summaries of the science involved in the investigations.
This resource is part of the British Science Association’s National Science & Engineering Week activity pack series. A Welsh language version of the pack is also available to download, which provides a Welsh student section.
