Primary science: teaching theory and practice

This course book guides all trainees working towards achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) through primary science teaching as set out in the Professional Standards for QTS.

Each chapter includes summaries of key research to help students gain a deeper understanding of the theoretical underpinnings of teaching, as well as ideas for practical science activities in the classroom. Every chapter also includes case studies of classroom situations, which help trainees to make links between teaching theory and classroom practice.
