Tasty toast
This activity has been designed to encourage pupils to try new foods, to understand the need for a healthy balanced diet and to safely undertake simple cooking skills. It contains a session plan, an advice sheet to support setting up cooking with your class, as well as a game and a letter and activity to send home to parents, in order to continue the learning outside of the classroom. Although this resource is designed for use in EYFS, covering many areas of Development Matters, such as Physical Development, Listening and Attention and Playing and Exploring, it could easily be adapted to work across the primary phase.
This education programme is managed by the British Nutrition Foundation in partnership with the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB).
