Angles

This resource contains a collection of dynamic and interactive spreadsheets designed to illustrate teaching points on the topic of angles.

The first sheet provides screens on the following:

Right-angles: draws all angles in multiples of 10 between 0 and 360 degrees, can select multiples of 90 and random angles.

Inequalities (< = >): for each of six diagrams, state whether they are less than equal to or greater than one/two/three right angle(s).

Right-angled triangles: identify the right-angled triangles in a series of four triangles.

How many right-angles? Work out the number of right-angles in different quadrilaterals.

The second spreadsheet provides:

Angle 0-180, 0-360: screens to show various angles, helping children recognise acute, obtuse, right-angles and reflex angles.

Turning Clockwise or Anti-Clockwise: a compass or clock dial shows turn from a selected point. Select the direction and amount of turn.

Direction questions: work out direction after a turn giving size and direction of turn.

Match the angle: match pictures of angles to their correct value.

Angles = 180/360: calculate the value of angles in a straight line or to 360 degrees.

Angles in a triangle: work out value of angles within isosceles, right-angled and scalene triangles.

This resource has been provided by the Virtual Textbook. It is part of the Geometry and Measure sub-collection, which contains many further curriculum linked interactive spreadsheets.
