Plants and Literacy
Aimed at primary level, this resource contains games and activities which help develop literacy skills whilst learning about plants. It includes games such as matching pairs, loop cards, taboo, splat, bingo and vocabulary cards. The resource contains:
Parts of a plant
Useful activities for starters and plenaries which help to identify children’s misconceptions.
Parts of a flower
Six different games using flash cards which help to identify children’s misconceptions and develop understanding.
Vines and Villains
Based on “Snakes and ladders”, this board game reinforces children’s understanding about what seeds need to germinate and what plants need to grow well. Children write questions for the “growth cards” and develop their understanding of scientific vocabulary
