Insulation and Conduction

Produced by the Royal Society of Chemistry, this resource provides activity ideas, key vocabulary and background knowledge about thermal and electrical insulation. Aimed at primary level, it also aims to develop key skills including: using a thermometer with care, accurately measuring volume, recording results in chart form and constructing a line graph. Science poems and a concept cartoon are also provided to promote discussion and develop understanding. Activities include: *Investigating which materials are good thermal insulators and conductors *How to measure temperature accurately *How hot things cool down and cold things warm up to the temperature of their surroundings *Investigating which materials are good conductors of electricity
