Chemical Engineering

This book, from Unilever, focuses on the science of industrial processes. The book begins with the example of the manufacture of coconut monoethanolamide – a material which stabilises foam in surface active systems, to discuss the common unit operations of mixing, pumping, filtering, evaporation, distillation and absorption. The book also looks at the equations for: *fluid flow *molecular diffusion in viscous flow, thermal conduction and diffusion of mass *streamline and turbulent flow *momentum heat and mass transfer Distillation is described, including equations for flow rates. Finally some detailed examination of the ethanolamide process is provided.
