Let’s Dissect – the Kidney
This tutorial, from Bristol University’s Let’s Dissect, highlights the structure and function of the kidney and includes a video of a kidney dissection with accompanying narration describing the anatomy. Curriculum links include the excretory system and homeostasis. The process of kidney dialysis is also explained in a clear animation, together with the key advantages and disadvantages of dialysis and kidney transplant. Throughout the tutorial, the key points which students should know are explained, and a picture of a brain is used to indicate extension material. The kidney tutorial for students is intended for students to work through themselves, whereas the teachers' version makes whole class teaching easy with simple index access.
