Polygons

This video from Teachers TV observes mathematics teacher Jonny Heeley as he inspires a group of gifted and talented Year Six students with an interactive lesson on polygons. Students create isosceles triangles by folding paper and explore their angles before investigating the interior angles of a regular hexagon. The conditions for tessellation are established and applied to create patterns using a variety of different polygons. Jonny won The Guardian Award for Teacher of the Year in a Secondary School in the North of England in 2007.
