Making Statistics Matter
This video resource from Teachers TV is presented by Wendy Fortescue-Hubbard who visits Carnaby Street to demonstrate the use of statistical data in the fashion industry. Staff at Vyners School in Hillingdon use fashion to make teaching mode, median and mean relevant to the students in a low ability Year Nine class. Suggestions for useful data handling investigations are made throughout the video and the ratio, used by stores to purchase stock, is explained.
