Nuffield Co-ordinated Sciences: Chemistry Worksheets

Most of the Nuffield Co-ordinated Sciences Chemistry Worksheets were the same in both editions of the course. Extra worksheets were published in an Upgrade Pack for the second edition. There is a full list of all the chemistry worksheets at the start of the chemistry section of the upgrade file.

There were three types of chemistry worksheets. Most of the worksheets were designed to help pupils tackle the experiments and learn practical skills. Other worksheets were based on SATIS units intended to promote thought and discussion of issues arising from the impact of science and technology on society. The third category of worksheets was been included to help pupils to learn by studying the text.

These sheets were designed to promote active reading as suggested in ‘Reading for Learning in the Sciences’ by Florence Davies and Terry Greene (Oliver and Boyd, 1984). The worksheet file and upgrade pack included between one and fifteen worksheets for each of the 21 chapters in the Chemistry students’ textbook for the course.
