Active Learning
From the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS), this activity brings to life the process of doing a risk assessment. A video clip shows students actively engaged in observing, comparing, assessing and drawing conclusions from the data they generate. Almost without knowing it, they complete a risk assessment. The materials include:
* a session plan giving detailed guidance on setting up the risk assessment activity
* a step-by-step guide to the activity, including tips for how to develop, evaluate and reflect on practice to enhance the teaching and learning experience
* a blank risk assessment and risk graph
* a suggested approach to help teachers and trainers assess learning.
