GM Food
This series of Democs resources are produced by the new economics foundation (nef). GM Food is an acitivity that encourages students to discuss and understand the issues around genetically modified foods. The materials contain teacher guidance, student activity sheets and information sheets.
The activities help students to consider:
* what is GM food?
* what types of crops are genetically modified?
* testing GM crops
* pros and cons of GM
Students are prompted to think about and discuss possible implications of genetic modification of food crops. The materials are flexible and can be used as a short introduction or as an extended activity that looks more deeply into the issues.
