Intestinal Worms
From the Wellcome Trust, this animation shows how environment and living conditions can lead to infection by a range of energy sapping intestinal worms.
The three main worms infecting humans are hookworm, roundworm and whipworm. The animation shows how these parasites can be transmitted in areas where soil is contaminated with human faeces. It illustrates the life cycle of the parasites and may prompt discussion on how improved sanitation can break the cycle of infection and reinfection.
The animation is suitable for use with students aged 11-16.
