Professor Georgia's Engineering Adventures
This London Engineering Project and Royal Academy of Engineering paper describes how London South Bank University and London Engineering Project set up 'Professor Georgia's Engineering Adventures' in order to engage Year 7 students in STEM subjects and introduce them to engineering.
LEP student ambassadors give interactive presentations which encourage students to ask questions. This is followed by three activities: one based on a series of books, Boing Boing the Bionic Cat; another called 'Teetering Towers' in which students design a new tower complex; 'Pop Pop Boats' which involves designing a boat to carry materials needed to build the tower complex.
