In this unit, Year 5 pupils have the opportunity to work in groups to create short videos. As they progress through the unit they will develop skills of capturing, editing and manipulating video using a range of devices and software. Pupils are guided with step by step support throughout taking their ideas from conception to completion. At the end of the teaching unit pupils have the opportunity to reflect on and assess their progress in creating a video. This unit provided by the National Centre for Computing Education covers key areas of the Upper Key Stage 2 computing curriculum;

  • Work with variables and various forms of input and output,
  • Select, use and combine a variety of software (including internet services) on a range of digital devices to design and create a range of programs, systems and content that accomplish given goals, including collecting, analysing, evaluating and presenting data and information.
