A study of the birth of modernism. It is part of a series which looks at the progress of design through the 20th century and charts its influence on everyday lives, from fashion, architecture, homeware, interiors, art and information graphics to developments in transport and technology. It uses contemporary examples and shows them in a social context, and provides detailed descriptions and illustrations of technological and industrial processes.
