GCSE Maths in Action: inspirational days for KS4 students

Fri, 23 Nov 2018

Our exceptional  GCSE Mathematics in Action days consist of five informative, engaging and interactive sessions from leading lights in the maths world. They are educational, motivational and fun.

Speakers:

Cerys Bradley, UCL - 'Tor, statistics and the Dark Net'

Nira Chamberlain, Babcock International Group - 'Maths versus AI: minimising the probability of an Artificial Intelligence takeover'

Sabine Hauert, University of Bristol - 'Swarm modelling across scales: from flocking robots to nanomedicine'

Colin Wright, Mathematician and juggler - 'Patterns and predictions'

Please note that many schools book in the spring or summer term and amend in September. Consequently, many days fill quickly. No deposit is required at the time of booking.

Expected outcomes
  • Students will be inspired and motivated
  • They will be encouraged to pursue their maths studies
  • They will better understand where those studies might lead
  • They will be better equipped to excel in their exams
