Nuffield Advanced Physics: Teachers’ Guide to Supplementary Mathematics
This Guide was intended to assist teachers of the Nuffield Advanced Physics course who had students who were not studying a post-16 course in mathematics. The Guide was written in a sequence which followed the needs of the Nuffield Advanced Physics course. The methods suggested were also chosen to fit closely with the particular needs of the Physics course. The Guide was not intended to provide a mathematical course to be followed all through. It offered a collection of resources from which teachers could select a course.
Each numbered sub-section of the Guide was followed immediately by a selection of examples relevant to that piece of work. The Guide was fairly comprehensive. As well as containing revision of elementary mathematics, it contained some parts which, for satisfaction and completeness, went beyond the minimum requirements of the Physics course.
