Top tips for running a successful student summer school


Summary

Running a summer school can be challenging but this course will help you overcome some of these barriers and will provide you with the top tips for running a successful student summer school.
This residential course builds on RX042 How to run a successful summer school. By developing tools and strategies, you will gain the confidence to lead an enthusing and engaging summer school intervention for your students which improves student understanding and supports student wellbeing.
On completing the course, you will have developed a package of tools and content to enable you to lead a summer school using funding available from the DfE Summer Schools Programme. The course will be relevant to all summer schools but will specifically focus on those targeting the transition from key stage 2 to key stage 3.

Who is it for?

This course is for secondary teachers, senior leaders and technicians who will be running summer schools in summer 2021, as funded by the DfE.

  • Develop and build your package of intervention materials and ideas to lead the science component of your summer school
