Are you looking for support to maximise the achievement of learners up to grade 5 with GCSE?
Investigate strategies to embed progression of practical skills to secure exam success. Gain techniques to develop enquiry based science into your scheme of work to inspire and engage your students.
Who is it for?
Newly and recently qualified science teachers, heads of science.
What topics are covered?
- resources to support - identifying key resources to aid development of learners up to grade 5 and how to find them and build your own resource bank
- biology/chemistry/physics: Practical in context - looking across all three sciences and applying an everyday context to the core practical work along with other practical based activities
- maths in science - strategies to aid learners up to grade 5 to develop their mathematics skills across science
- behaviour for learning - strategies to keep learners up to grade 5 on track and improve behaviour when it comes to practical work
- misconceptions - looking at the major misconceptions across the three sciences and how to remove these
- using technology - how can we use cheap technological advancements online and with mobile devices to aid students' understanding and make lessons more engaging
How will you learn?
This course will be delivered face to face with participant tasks to be completed between sessions.

This is a four day intensive course split over two periods of two days.
