A Recommended Code of Governance for Schools: a Flexible Framework for Strategic Planning
This pilot version of the Recommended Code of Governance for Schools was published by the Wellcome Trust in October 2012. It is aimed at providing school governors and senior leaders with a robust yet flexible framework they can use to set the strategic direction for their school, and that governors can use to hold the senior leaders to account.
The report is intended as a starting-point for schools to adapt to their own situation and needs or to build upon an existing Code of Practice.
It considers three elements within its structure:
*A shared vision and long-term strategic plan for the school
*A framework for governance
*High-level school performance indicators
