Vanished: a Blitz Mystery

This Double Crossed activity, from the Centre for Science Education and supported by the Astra Zeneca Teaching Trust, is set during World War Two. There is a mystery to solve, following an air raid, and students will need to use both science and history skills to get to the bottom of it. They are expected to analyse and interpret a range of scientific and historical evidence and encouraged to ask questions. Students are then asked to write a warden's report.

The activity ends with a self-assessment sheet through which students can evaluate what they have learned and the methods they have used to interpret the evidence.

The activity sheet is accompanied by a set of teachers' notes.
