Act 1
An animation shows a volcano erupting and the spread of lava. The location ‘Tarata’ is marked on the animation. How long will it take the lava to reach Tarata?
Act 2
A second video has locations closer to the volcano marked and shows the time taken by the lava to reach them. In addition, there is a handout with a map showing how far the lava has travelled in one hour, and the position of Tarata.
Act 3
An animation reveals the answer.
Sequel
Three graphs are given, together with a blank one. How can the axes be labelled to match the situation in the video?
