Textiles: teacher's guide

This project, designed for 14-16 year olds, builds upon the previous age group's project, but its resources focus on each of the subject areas and provide students with a more in-depth study of these.

This element shows pupils how to design and make textiles products for protection, the theatre, street style, fashion accessories, bags and carriers, tents and kites, fabrics and furnishings.

Each teachers' guide incorporates all the capability tasks for the focus area. Capability tasks give students the opportunity to use the skills and understanding gained through the resource tasks to complete longer, open-ended activities which require designing, making and evaluation skills.
