Foundation physics

Foundation Physics provides an introduction to the fundamental concepts in advanced physics. It contains material from the new A level common core that covers physical quantities and units, Newton's laws of motion, work and energy, waves, DC electricity and atomic structure. Foundation Physics is part of the Cambridge Modular Sciences series for A and AS levels.

It provides an introduction to some of the fundamental concepts in advanced physics and can be used as a basis for further study. It contains material from the new A level common core that covers physical quantities and units, Newton's laws of motion, work and energy, waves, DC electricity and atomic structure.

To help students with study and revision, there are self-assessment questions throughout the text, a list of learning objectives at the start of each chapter and a summary of contents at the end. Structured and essay questions also appear at the end of each chapter. Guidance for teachers can be found in the teachers' notes for the module which are published separately.
