Autistic spectrum difficulties

Many groups will at some point include children who have autistic spectrum difficulties. This book will help all early years professionals to recognise and understand such difficulties and to provide inclusive activities.

There is advice on the legal requirements of handling special needs, including information on the Code of Practice for special needs and ideas for working with parents and outside agencies.

There are six chapters of practical activities linked to all six areas of the Early Learning goals. Theses how how autistic spectrum difficulties can be supported in an inclusive approach that involves all children in the group.

A section of supporting photocopiable activities is included and there is information on further sources of help and information.
