RADAAR framework to support the pH Scale
This infographic guide to teaching 11-14 year olds about pH uses the RADAAR (research, anticipate, diagnose, address, assess, review). The framework has been developed by the Best Evidence Science Teaching (BEST) project based at the University of York.
It looks at how to establish students' misconceptions, how to address them and then how this links to later topics at key stage four. In addition, it covers the meaning of the term 'strong' acid and how this relates to the type of acid and not the concentration.
