Session 4 - Patterns Unplugged: Reusing recipes activity

The main objective of this session is to understand what pattern spotting is in context, by using a series of recipes.

  • Look at 2 different recipes and say what is the same and what is different. Discuss
  • Rewrite own version for a ‘ham and tomato’ sandwich using the original recipes as guides
  • Look at further recipes and analyse.
  • Present findings to an audience
  • Read further information on why it is important to ‘pattern spot’ and use this in computer science e.g When building a game or developing a website (on the activity plan)
