This resource from Boxford shows an example of how items can be produced quickly using CNC machines. A photograph of the business card holder, screenshots of CAD files for the mould and exemplar CAD files are included. The shape for a vacuum formed mould is shown as a designed created in Pro/Desktop CAD software. This is then exported as an STL file and loaded into 3D Geocam software. Finally the shape is machined using a 6.35mm cutting tool. Curriculum links include the use of CAD/CAM in the designing and making process and the use of CNC cutting tools to manufacture products quickly.
