Subject Leader Guidance
The materials in this resource are from the Secondary National Strategy ‘Progressing to Level 6 and beyond in science’ project. They were intended as guidance for subject leaders of science on the Level 6+ project.
The Progressing to level 6 and beyond in science: Subject leader guidance file should be read first and includes the background, purpose and overall structure of the project. It also provides an overview of the four stage approach taken and the resources of the project. The Steps 1-4 overview document is a compilation of the first sets of Steps tables produced for the project around the themes (or ‘strands’) of

* Understanding misconceptions

The Pupil questionnaire for baseline and Exemplification for pupil questionnaire are for teachers to use with students to help identify which strand the teacher should choose for the project, and to assess progress towards the end of the project. Question level analysisis to help use test questions to identify issues with students’ understanding and plan for intervention.
