Development and dilemmas in science education

This collection of essays by science educators from eight countries provides a summary of the strengths and weaknesses in present practices of science education in schools, and of research in science education. It points out a number of directions that are likely to lead to improvements in the teaching and learning of sciences if applied in the remaining years of this century.
