Key issues in education and teaching

This is a textbook for initial teacher training, newly qualified teachers and their mentors which places current training based on in-school practice in a broader context.

Each chapter covers a specific topic - for example, first steps in curriculum, teaching a subject and making it interesting, discipline, moral education - followed by questions for discussion. Wider issues such as selection, multicultural education and gender are discussed, as well as questions like "Does equality make sense?"
